工芸家の紹介

「二風谷」という地域は、人口が約300人ほどですが、そのうちの約8割がアイヌにルーツを持つと言われています。この地域で活動する工芸家たちは、匠から若手まで、幅広い世代で技と想いを受け継ぎ、伝統を守りながら新たな創作に挑戦しています。彼らの手仕事は、アイヌ文化の継承活動として重要な役割を果たしています。

The region of "Nibutani" has a population of about 300, with around 80% of the residents having Ainu heritage. The artisans working in this area, ranging from master craftsmen to younger artists, carry on the traditions by passing down their skills and values. Their work plays a vital role in preserving and promoting Ainu culture through ongoing craftsmanship and creative endeavors.

貝澤 雪子 / Yukiko Kaizawa

伝統的工芸品二風谷アットゥㇱを65年以上にわたって手がけている第一人者です。
オヒョウの樹皮を5~6月に剥がし、さまざまな工程を経て糸を製作し、織り上げます。身近な草木で染色を施すことから優しい色合いが特徴です。「難しいがやりがいがある」「死ぬまで勉強」「楽しいから」と、毎日手を休めることのない作家です。
常に技術向上に努力を惜しまず、アイヌ文化の伝承や後継者の育成にも積極的に取り組んでいます​。


She is a leading figure in the creation of the traditional craft "Niwetani Atush," which she has been working on for over 65 years. In the months of May and June, she carefully peels the bark of the white birch tree, then goes through various processes to create thread and weave it. Her works are characterized by gentle hues, as she dyes the fibers using local plants. "It’s challenging, but rewarding," she says, adding, "I will keep studying until I die," and "I enjoy it." She is an artist who never rests her hands.

Constantly striving for technical improvement, she is also deeply committed to the transmission of Ainu culture and the training of future generations.

貝澤 守 / Mamoru Kaizawa

幼少期から木彫職人であった父、守幸(1977年没)の彫刻を見て育つ。アイヌ伝統の技術、思いの伝承に努めながら、独自の作品づくりに力を注いでいます。
現在、貝沢民芸店主であり、二風谷民芸組合代表理事を務めるほか、一般社団法人びらとりウレシパ代表理事、株式会社平取町アイヌ文化振興公社取締役も兼任しています。

実写映画『ゴールデンカムイ』では、小刀や小道具などの製作にも携わり、その技術は高く評価されています。

Growing up surrounded by the sculptures of his father, Moriyuki (who passed away in 1977), a woodcarver, Moriyuki Kaizawa dedicated himself to preserving and passing on Ainu traditional techniques and values while focusing on creating his own unique works.

He is the owner of Kaizawa Folk Crafts, the representative director of the Niwetani Folk Craft Association, the representative director of the Biratori Ureshipa General Incorporated Association, and a director at the Biratori Town Ainu Cultural Promotion Corporation.

Moriyuki has also contributed to the production of small knives and props used in the live-action film Golden Kamuy, and his craftsmanship has been highly regarded.

関根 真紀 / Maki Sekine

アイヌ工芸家・合同会社katak代表社員・二風谷民芸組合所属
北海道平取町二風谷で生まれ育ち、家業である民芸店を手伝いながら幼少期を過ごしました。その後、木彫りから刺繍に至るまで、多岐にわたるアイヌ工芸に関する制作活動に携わり、現在もアイヌ文化を伝える工芸作家として活躍しています。アイヌ文化の深さや歴史を広めることを使命に感じ、アイヌ工芸や文化の普及活動も積極的に行っています。


Ainu craftswoman, representative member of Katak LLC, and member of the Nibutani Folk Craft Association.

Born and raised in Nibutani, Biratori Town, Hokkaido, she spent her childhood helping out at the family-run folk craft store. Over the years, she has been involved in a wide range of Ainu crafts, from wood carving to embroidery, and continues to work as an artisan dedicated to preserving and promoting Ainu culture. She feels a deep sense of mission in spreading the depth and history of Ainu culture and is actively engaged in efforts to promote Ainu crafts and culture.

貝澤 美雪 / Miyuki Kaizawa

二風谷出身で彫刻家・貝澤守のもとに嫁ぎ、アイヌ工芸に深く関わるようになりました。30年に渡りアットゥシ織りの着物や刺繍などの美しい作品を多く生み出しています。 刺繍の目の細かさや繊細さをぜひご覧ください。

Born in Nibutani, she married the sculptor Moriyuki Kaizawa and became deeply involved in Ainu crafts. For over 30 years, she has created many beautiful works, including Atush woven garments and intricate embroidery. The fine detail and delicacy of her embroidery are truly worth experiencing.

貝澤 徹 / Toru Kaizawa

1958年、二風谷に生まれ、工芸家の父(勉)やその仲間の職人に囲まれて育つ。 曾祖父の貝澤ウトレントクは、明治時代に名工といわれた二人のうちの一人。その曾祖父から引き継ぐ伝統を重視しながら、そこに独自の感性と技術をとけ込ませ、自分らしさやメッセージを表現する、独創的なアイヌアートに精力的に取り組んでいる。ふと気づいたことを題材に作品を創作。代表作「UKOUKU(ウコウク)/輪唱」は、昔のアイヌ民族の入れ墨をした女性の手の写真から発想し、世代交代しながら文化が受け継がれるというメッセージをこめて創り上げた。北海道アイヌ伝統工芸展北海道知事賞ほか受賞多数。「北の工房 つとむ」店主。

Born in 1958 in Nibutani, he was raised surrounded by his craftsman father, Tsutomu, and his fellow artisans. His great-grandfather, Kaizawa Utorentoku, was one of the two master craftsmen renowned in the Meiji era. 柴田 幸宏 / Yukihiro Shibata

以前より興味のあったアットゥシ織を学ぶため、2018年より二風谷に移住。アットゥシをはじめとするアイヌ伝統工芸全般の技術技法や原材料の調達などについて学ぶ。 
2021年公益財団法人アイヌ民族文化財団アイヌ工芸作品コンテスト奨励賞。


Having been interested in Atush weaving for many years, he moved to Nibutani in 2018 to study it. He has since learned the techniques and skills of Ainu traditional crafts, including Atush weaving, as well as the procurement of raw materials.

In 2021, he received the Encouragement Award at the Ainu Craft Contest organized by the Ainu Cultural Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation.

岡本 朋也 / Tomoya Okamoto

アイヌ文化の担い手を育てるアイヌ民族文化財団の「伝承者育成事業」にて木彫りの技術を学び、現在は二風谷の地域おこし協力隊として木彫りの技術を磨きながら、自身の作品も手がける。
2024年第57回北海道アイヌ伝統工芸展の伝統部門にて、最優秀賞を受賞。


He learned wood carving techniques through the "Heritage Practitioner Training Program" of the Ainu Cultural Foundation, which nurtures bearers of Ainu culture. Currently, as a regional revitalization volunteer in Nibutani, he continues to hone his wood carving skills while working on his own creations. In 2024, he won the Grand Prize in the Traditional Category at the 57th Hokkaido Ainu Traditional Craft Exhibition.

西山 涼 / Ryo Nishiyama

平取町振内出身。株式会社平取町アイヌ文化振興公社の平取地域イオル再生事業職員としてアイヌ文化の伝承に取り組む。令和4年に二風谷民芸組合に加入し、若手作家として「二風谷イタ」の制作に励む。伝統的な文様を大切にしつつ、自身の個性を表現する作品作りを目指している。また、学んだ技術や文化を次世代に伝え、二風谷アイヌ文化を守り育てることを目標に活動中。令和5年には「北海道アイヌ伝統工芸展」で優秀賞を受賞した。

Born in Furenai, Biratori Town, he works as a staff member of the Biratori Town Ainu Cultural Promotion Corporation, engaging in efforts to preserve and pass on Ainu culture through the Biratori region’s Ior (traditional Ainu village) regeneration project. In 2022, he joined the Nibutani Folk Craft Association and has been dedicated to creating "Niwetani Ita" as a young artisan. While cherishing traditional patterns, he aims to express his individuality through his works. He is also focused on passing on the skills and culture he has learned to the next generation, with the goal of preserving and nurturing Nibutani Ainu culture. In 2023, he won the Excellence Award at the Hokkaido Ainu Traditional Craft Exhibition.

平村 太幹 / Daiki Hiramura

2021年より株式会社平取町アイヌ文化振興公社にて、平取地域イオル再生事業職員としてアイヌ文化の伝承活動に従事。2022年には二風谷民芸組合に加入し、同年「アイヌ工芸作品コンテスト2022」で入選、さらに2023年「第56回北海道アイヌ伝統工芸展」では最優秀賞を受賞。二風谷の地で技術を磨き続ける、期待の若手工芸家です。

Since 2021, he has been working as a staff member of the Biratori Town Ainu Cultural Promotion Corporation, engaging in activities to preserve and pass on Ainu culture through the Biratori region’s Ior (traditional Ainu village) regeneration project. In 2022, he joined the Nibutani Folk Craft Association and was selected in the "Ainu Craft Contest 2022."
